Gurukin
Gurukin builds free learning tools that stay free. Right now that means Michi — a 100-day roadmap from zero Japanese to JLPT N5 — and a safe daily learning world for kids, in development.

Learning Japanese alone usually fails the same way: the material is out there, but it is scattered across a dozen tabs and nothing tells you what to do on Tuesday. Michi is one ordered path. Open day 1, do what it says, come back tomorrow.
N5 is the first credential that shows an employer or a visa officer you are serious about the language. It is the honest starting line for a career move.
Reading a train sign, a menu or a form is the difference between visiting and living there. Kana comes first here for exactly that reason.
You already hear the language every week. This turns passive listening into the moment a line lands before the subtitle does.
Day 1 teaches your first hiragana character. No prior study assumed, and no romaji crutch — the first fortnight gets you reading kana properly.
Weekly checkpoints and three full mock exams tell you whether you are actually on track — instead of finding out on the day.
Michi is built on free teachers, dictionaries and datasets. All 67 are named with their licence, right where their work appears.
Two honest caveats. The lessons are AI-drafted and human-reviewed — thorough, but not vetted by a certified teacher, so errors are possible and corrections are the most welcome thing you can send. And the JLPT organisers stopped publishing definitive word and kanji lists after 2010, so every "official N5 list" online — ours included — is a well-informed estimate, not gospel.

A tiny taste of how Gurukin makes learning fun. Pick a level, answer a few questions, and earn coins — play solo, or sit with your child and play together. No sign-up, just fun.
Every day is one short, themed mission — about 10–20 minutes of joyful, focused learning.
A short, curriculum-grounded lesson at exactly the right level — never overwhelming.
An interactive game to practise the idea — learning by doing, not by lecturing.
A gentle mastery check with encouraging feedback — mistakes are part of learning.
Coins, badges and treasure — and progress parents can actually see.
A fresh, bite-size adventure every day builds a real learning habit — without the homework battles.
Coins, badges, streaks and treasure chests — all earned by learning, never bought.
Kids never chat with raw AI. Every lesson comes from approved curriculum and is validated before it's shown.
See what your child learned, time spent and progress by subject — plus a friendly weekly report.
Adapts to your child so it's challenging but never discouraging — every kid moves at their own pace.
Mapped to CBSE/NCERT in India and Common Core in the US, Grades 1–6.
Children unlock new worlds as they learn — each one re-skins the adventure with a fresh theme.
Trust is the whole point. We designed Gurukin so parents never have to worry about what their child sees.
“I only ever show kids safe, approved, age-right content — and I cheer them on when they try.”
— Sol, your child's learning companion
